"This is not necessarily true for all women. In fact, it is probably applicable for a minority. But I have noticed a few things over the years and would like to mention that:

1. Women want to be treated equally, yet when it comes to marriage, they always look at the net worth of the guy. Looks, personality, etc take a back seat.
2. Women expect men to bear the expenses of dating (if with boyfriend) or running expenses (with hubby)
3. With education, the role of a wife is not clear. A woman does not take up household responsibilities as readily as she used to, say one generation before. Women don' like to cook, and frown upon guests.
4. Women like to carve out their own domains. It is very difficult for a woman to live with mother-in-law; both would have problems; This is more prevalent in Christianity as Religion does not influence the psyche of women in terms of her 'moving' to her husband's household in toto.
5. Too much of equality funda is not good I guess. With all the Equality in the West, we know their marriage divorce rates. It is no surprise that the divorce rates in India are also increasing.
6. With Marriage laws and Divorce laws blatantly biased in favor of women, the trend will be just like in the West going forward. Men will hesitate to marry women, and would rather prefer live-in relationships. No wonder, in the West, they make such a big deal of a man proposing; it means they have hooked a guy into an inequal contract for life.

I know this is going to rile many women readers out here, but am just sharing a man's perspective. I have dreamt all my life of having a wonderful married life. I know there are many people out there who have wonderful wives and adore them. However, I feel that tribe is decreasing, and unfortunately"
